Soneva Kiri is located on Koh Kood, an island in the east of Thailand. The luxury self-contained resort is situated on a 41 hectare site (more than one hundred acres) in the first phase of development, with an additional 19 hectares (50 acres) to be developed in a second phase.
The resort will comprise 46 pool villas along the beach front and on the hillside, overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. All villas are 4 bedrooms as listed, with approximately 1,275 square meters (12,917 sq. ft) of interior and exterior living space, each situated on approximately 3,830 square meters of land (32,000 sq ft). An option to expand to 6 bedrooms is available in select locations for an additional cost.
These unique villas are constructed with living areas and air-conditioned bedrooms surrounded by water features. Several villas feature private spa suites. All villas offer personal butler service.
Three restaurants are planned, with the fine dining restaurant sitting on the ridge of a hill, facing west where spectacular sunsets over the Gulf of Thailand can be observed. In addition to many leisure facilities, the resort will feature a Six Senses Spa village and a celebratory pavilion.
Soneva Kiri is being developed with the principles of ecologically sustainable design and materials selection, and with construction methods adapted to protect the environment. Electrical golf carts and bicycles are the mode of transport within the resort.
The resort can be reached by boat only. Flights from Bangkok International Airport will take 45 minutes by the Soneva Kiri private plane, and from there it is just 2 kilometre by speed boat to the arrival pier.
